Description

This project supported sustainable management of forests and agroforestry systems and the production of NTFPs (non-timber forest products) that lead to improved livelihoods and climate resilience of forest communities of fragile landscapes in rural Nepal. Objective

• By the end of the project, economically and institutionally independent women enterprise functioning with members from 10 women groups from 10 community forest user groups of Nawalparasi
• NTFP (non-timber forest product) women enterprise business diversified and scaled up, benefitting 150 women and their households directly, and indirectly a total of 5,000 households in the participating CFUGs (Community Forest User Group)
• Four CFUGs continue management...

Results

-10 women groups from 10 community forests in Nawalparasi district were formed. These women groups were involved in the restoration of the degraded areas of community forests, cultivation, harvesting and distillation of medicinal aromatic plants.
